SPRINGHOUSE FARM TN

Bunny Sales Policy
Hello and Thank you for considering a Springhouse Farm in TN for your new family addition.
We are a small ARBA "closed" family rabbitry that strives to breed quality rabbits for loving pet homes.
A "closed" rabbitry is important for the health and safety of my rabbits and family. This also helps me to provide a healthier bunny to you.

Please Read the below Policy Before You Adopt.
All sales are conducted by this Sales Policy, regardless of whether buyer has read or not. By purchasing a bunny/rabbit you are agreeing to comply with this Sales Policy in its entirety. This sales policy may be updated at any time.

-
RESERVATION: To reserve a bunny just send me a message telling me which bunny you would like and any questions you have. If you decide it is the right fit for you then you need to send a 50% non-refundable deposit (See QR codes below). Due to the influx of scammers some new owners are hesitant to send via Friends and Family and opt for Goods and Services. That is fine but if you choose to use "Goods and Services" you must add on the processing fee into the amount you send.

To have a bunny held a deposit must be made. The remaining balance is due:
Local: at pickup.
Transporting: at 8 weeks old even if before transport pickup.
I will send you a reminder of the total amount due, if I do not hear from you within 3 days I will assume that you are no longer interested in the bunnies and work on rehoming. The only reason I refund a deposit is if something were to happen to the bunny while in my care. If transporting a rabbit payment in full is required 24 hours before the rabbit is placed on transport.

-
PEDIGREE: All of my rabbits are Pedigreed. Rabbits/Bunnies and come with their pedigree unless I specify that they will not come with pedigree. Typically this is if the rabbit is not appropriate for breeding or are being retired.

LOCAL MEETUP: For the health and well-being of my rabbits (and family) I run a small-scale “closed” rabbitry. This protects the health and safety of my family and rabbits. I will meet you at an agreed-upon location and time with your bunny. I only meet in public places for pickup of your new family addition, typically, at the local Walmart here in Newport, TN at 1075 Cosby Highway. This keeps my herd safe as well as provides a safe environment for us people to meet! Once arrangements have been made for pickup, PLEASE be on time! I understand if there are traffic issues etc., just please message me if running late. I am fairly flexible with meetup times/days. If you need to reschedule pickup time (life happens!), you must contact me before the meeting time. Otherwise, I will consider that you no longer want the bunny and put it back up for adoption.

-
TRANSPORT: I only meet in public places for pickup of your new family addition, typically, at the local Walmart here in Newport, TN at 1075 Cosby Highway. I will consider traveling farther distances for a delivery fee based on distance of .60/mile.
For longer-distance transporter arrangements are at the buyer's discretion but I will be happy to recommend some quality transporters. (see TRANSPORT page for links). I can also assist in finding transport. I am open to trying new quality transporters. I do retain the right to refuse a transporter I am not comfortable with. Transporter choice is at the buyer's discretion. I am not responsible for the health and well-being of the bunny once it hops on transport. If waiting on a transporter for more than 3 weeks then a care and board fee of $25/week may be applied. For local meetups, I charge $25.00/week board for bunnies kept longer than originally planned on meetup date. This amount is not prorated it will be charged for any days within that week starting days 1-7.

HEALTH: The bunnies grown in my rabbitry are healthy to the best of my knowledge. When we meet up we can give you a quick bunny checkup before purchase. Once the bunny goes into your care we are no longer held responsible for its health and well-being. Once a rabbit leaves my care I cannot make a health guarantee as rabbits are sensitive animals and I am not responsible for buyer care, handling, environment, and health of the animal. I am not responsible for any veterinary fees incurred at any point during the life of the animal but please contact me with any concerns. I am always here to help. I cannot guarantee health, show placings, weight, fertility, how well a rabbit will produce, or temperament. I will however communicate with you on these these things honestly. I reserve the right to keep a bunny longer if I feel it is necessary for the health of the rabbit.

-
TEMPERAMENT: Bunnies are handled often and are from parents with wonderful temperaments and health. I will give you my honest observations as they grow but I cannot guarantee temperament as they age. Things like genetics, hormones, and environment all play a role and they can vary bunny to bunny. If you experience any temperament issues I can suggest options. Fixing your pet bunny is a wonderful choice.

-
GENDER: I visually check the gender of bunnies at birth, 4 weeks, then weekly thereafter. If I give you a gender that is my confident assessment which I am typically very accurate at. Some bunnies develop that area a little differently so it may take a little longer to confidently assess. But as even the most experienced and honest breeder will tell you with younger rabbits, there is no 100% guarantee at times. I do not offer refunds for gender changes after they leave my care. I do offer a gender change refund if still in my care. Again, I will be honest on this as your happiness equals the bunny's happiness.

-
FEED: All bunnies will come with a bag of "transition" food in case you decide to use feed other than what I use. I feed Manna Pro 16% (red bag). It is available at most feed stores. Please feel free to transition your bunny to another quality feed. Oxbow is a great convenient Pet brand. A very nice brand is Sherwood Rabbit Food. (chewy & Amazon) For younger bunnies I suggest mostly Timothy hay and a little Alfalfa the first few days with a small amount of pellets. Wonderful local hay choices are Oxbow and Kaytee. A very nice brand is Small Pet Select second or third cut hay. (Chewy & Amazon) Please see my New Bunny Infomation and First Days tabs for more information on feed.

WAITLIST:
-
**See "Teddywidder" page and "In the Nestbox" tabs for more detailed breed specific waitlist information.**

-
General Waitlist information: I can give you a price estimate on certain bunnies. Pricing will vary depending on gender outcome. If the gender of the bunny at 4 weeks is not what you were wanting you can choose another bunny at that time. I am typically confident of gender at 4 weeks. If gender changes at 8 weeks you can choose another bunny. I will contact you up to a few days before the reservation date in the order of inquiry. You will have 24 hrs to respond and promptly place a 50% deposit before I move on to the next name on the list. Once I have worked through the waitlist, bunnies will be posted under the Available Bunnies tab. You can surpass the general "waitlist" and be at the top of the list by putting a $50.00 nonrefundable deposit to "hold" a particular bunny or gender. The $50.00 deposit will be applied to the total amount of the bunny.you choose at 4 weeks. This "hold" is good until the kit is 4 weeks old. That is when the full 50% deposit amount is due. If this 50% deposit is not placed promptly after your reconfirmation of interest at 4 weeks old I will not hold the bunny. The only time I will refund a deposit is if anything happens to said bunny while in my care. If the gender of the bunny at 4 weeks is not what you were wanting you can apply your deposit towards another available bunny.

-
Please let me know if you are ever unable to care for one of the bunnies you get from me. If I can I will take them back into my care no questions asked or I will do my best to help you to rehome them.

Your deposit confirms that you have thoroughly read and agree to the adoption policy. I reserve the right to refuse a sale and/or return deposits if I feel uncomfortable selling a rabbit to you.
